Two disciplines, one contract, no translation layer.
The drawing and the build happen in the same room, which is where most of the cost and nearly all of the blame usually goes. Ten things we do. Most engagements use three or four of them, and we would rather tell you which than sell you the list.
Design
05-
01
Product design
Interfaces for systems that have more than one kind of user and cannot afford a separate build for each. We work from the real data early, because the shape of real data is what breaks a design that tested well on placeholder content.
-
02
Design systems
Tokens, components and the documentation that keeps them honest once we are gone. Delivered in whatever your engineers already use rather than a tool they have to be talked into.
-
03
Brand and identity
Naming, mark, typography and the rules for applying them. It starts with what the business actually sells and who decides to buy it, not with a mood board.
-
04
Websites
Marketing sites with a weight limit written into the build, so the third month does not quietly undo the first. This site is the reference: every page arrives in under twenty kilobytes compressed, styles and script included.
-
05
Discovery and research
Interviews, a walk through the current system and a written read on where the risk sits. Useful on its own, and you can hand the output to another firm if you decide not to carry on with us.
Engineering
05-
06
Data platforms
Lakehouses, pipelines and migrations, up to and past twenty petabytes. Storage tiering and query shape decide the monthly bill far more than the choice of vendor does, so that is where the design effort goes.
-
07
Product engineering
Application work from the first deploy to the version nobody is scared of. Two week increments, each one shippable rather than demonstrable, with your engineers holding commit access from day one.
-
08
Mobile
Applications that have to work where the signal does not, which means an offline path and a reconciliation strategy rather than a spinner and an apology.
-
09
Cloud and delivery
Infrastructure as code, pipelines, observability and an on-call rotation that exists before the first incident rather than after it. Service levels agreed at the start, when they are still a design constraint.
-
10
AI integration
Retrieval over your own material, an evaluation suite that tells you when a change made things worse, and limits on what the system is allowed to do unsupervised. We will say when a model is the wrong tool, which is often.
Not sure which of these you need? That is a normal place to start. Describe the symptom and we will tell you what it usually turns out to be.
